Utilities Manager

About the role

The Utilities Manager oversees the operation and maintenance of all critical utility systems supporting production, including power, water, HVAC, steam, and compressed air. This role ensures reliable, safe, and cost‑effective utility services while collaborating closely with Environmental Health & Safety and General Services teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise installations, refurbishments, and preventive maintenance of utility equipment.
• Manage equipment upkeep to meet health and safety standards.
• Inspect building structures and coordinate repairs with the General Services manager.
• Monitor utility consumption, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and control related budgets.
• Oversee insurance plans, service contracts, and vendor performance.
• Maintain accurate financial and non‑financial records for utility operations.
• Ensure mechanical and electrical operations are efficient, safe, and compliant with regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in utility operations, management, and maintenance.
• Proven ability to work with multiple business partners and prioritize tasks.
• Strong management and administrative skills, including analysis, delegation, and organization.
• Capability to read and interpret complex electrical, mechanical, and automation schematics.

• Interpretation of complex electrical, mechanical, and automation drawings.
