Technical Product Owner – Compliance & Regulation (Relocate to Spain)

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Product Owner to lead the Compliance & Regulation squad for a fast‑growing fintech platform. Based in Valencia, you will own the regulatory backlog, bridge the core banking engine with global compliance partners, and ensure that security and audit requirements are met across the product.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritise and manage the Compliance backlog in line with company OKRs and regulatory deadlines.
• Lead technical integration of identity verification (KYC), risk scoring and AML tools, coordinating dependencies with internal teams and external vendors.
• Gather and refine functional and non‑functional requirements, creating epics and user stories focused on financial edge cases such as sanction hits and suspicious transaction patterns.
• Validate that every feature complies with international standards (PSD2/3, DORA, PCI‑DSS, ISO 27001) and that security checks are never bypassed.
• Act as the central liaison between engineering, the CISO, and third‑party providers, securing approvals for data‑privacy and security architecture.
• Define sprint goals, approve product increments and ensure release quality, including audit‑logging and security validation.
• Manage incident and change processes for security patches and regulatory updates, enforcing strict acceptance criteria and documentation.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner, Business Analyst or System Analyst in fintech, BaaS or RegTech environments.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as DORA, ISO 27001, PSD2/3, PCI‑DSS and practical experience with KYC/AML workflows.
• Proven ability to translate business strategy into technical road‑maps and to work with cross‑functional, high‑velocity teams.
