Tech Lead – Lead Engineering Squad

About the role

Rain is the world’s first AI Financial Health Platform, serving millions of employees at leading organisations. We are looking for a Tech Lead to head a multidisciplinary squad of backend, frontend and QA engineers, building the core systems that power our financial‑health products.

Key responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions and lead engineering efforts to meet ambitious targets.
• Design, implement and maintain highly available RESTful APIs and micro‑services that handle transactions, balances and financial movements.
• Build and manage integrations with third‑party vendors and banking partners.
• Enforce observability best practices using logging, metrics and alerting systems.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and promote reusable code across teams.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong ownership mindset, able to drive projects from concept to production.
• Excellent cross‑functional communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency in Go (Golang) and/or Python.
• Deep knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL (transaction isolation, locking, schema migrations).
• Experience with Kafka for asynchronous workflows.
• Advanced use of AWS services (ECS, EKS, RDS) and container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
