Teaching Assistant – Bilingual Primary (Cascais)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant to join King’s College School, Cascais. Working closely with class teachers, you will help deliver a high‑quality bilingual curriculum for students up to Year 5, supporting both the English and Portuguese language streams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare multilingual learning materials, resources and classroom displays.
• Assist teachers during lessons to keep students engaged, focused and motivated.
• Provide targeted academic support to individual pupils or small groups across both language streams.
• Supervise students safely during breaks, lunch, playground time and school excursions.
• Promote an inclusive, positive classroom culture and monitor student well‑being.
• Handle daily classroom administrative tasks, including resource organization and progress tracking.

Required profile

• Degree in Education, Languages, Psychology or a related field (preferred).
• High proficiency in English; strong Portuguese is advantageous.
• Previous experience working with children in an international or multicultural setting.
• Excellent cross‑cultural communication, adaptability and a collaborative mindset.
• Up‑to‑date clear criminal record check (Registo Criminal) for working with minors.

Required skills

• Fluency in English.
• Proficiency in Portuguese (advantageous).
