Systems/Software Engineer III Cloud & On-Premise Software Development

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a senior Systems/Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain its Security Director Cloud and On‑Premise platforms. This hybrid role combines cloud‑native development with on‑premise software engineering to deliver a unified security management solution for Juniper firewalls and hybrid cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end development of one or more product modules, from design through delivery.
• Write, debug, and test high‑quality code for cloud‑native and on‑premise components.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure hardware compatibility and influence hardware design where needed.
• Participate in design reviews, evaluate architectural decisions, and contribute to technical documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the organization.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex software products in a cloud and on‑premise context.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities with a track record of visible technical impact.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives across multiple modules.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑team collaboration and mentorship.

Required skills

• Experience with Juniper SRX firewalls, vSRX, and Secure Edge technologies.
• Knowledge of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and Zero Trust security models.
• Familiarity with Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and API‑driven integrations.
• Strong software debugging and design skills at the module level.
