Systems Administrator – Virtualization (VMware, XenServer, KVM)

About the role

Aubay Portugal is looking for a Systems Administrator specialized in virtualization to design, implement and maintain robust virtual infrastructures for large‑scale clients in banking, insurance, telecom and energy. You will work in a hybrid model, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure high availability, performance and security of critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage virtualization environments using VMware, XenServer and KVM.
• Handle the full lifecycle of virtual infrastructures – patching, upgrades, migrations and CIS hardening.
• Perform disaster‑recovery testing, on‑call support and incident resolution.
• Automate routine tasks with PowerShell scripts.
• Monitor performance and availability using SolarWinds.
• Collaborate with networking teams to configure DNS, DHCP, load balancing and SSL VPN services.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in virtualization administration.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and clear communication in English.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a commitment to integrity, ethics and customer focus.
