Supply Chain & Planning Team Lead

About the role

BASEYARD is building a next‑generation industrial ecosystem for defence and dual‑use technologies in Portugal. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Supply Chain & Planning Team Lead to establish and lead our supply chain function in Braga, ensuring reliable material availability, efficient production planning, and operational excellence across multiple high‑tech products.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead the Supply Chain & Planning function, defining processes and team structure.
• Develop and manage Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), master production schedules (MPS) and material requirements planning (MRP).
• Ensure material availability for prototype, pilot and serial production, coordinating closely with procurement.
• Monitor inventory levels, optimise stock, and maintain high service levels.
• Implement demand forecasting, capacity planning and risk mitigation strategies.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by planning material readiness, supplier onboarding and production ramp‑up.
• Collaborate with Engineering on ECOs, BOM updates and material phase‑in/phase‑out.
• Develop supplier performance metrics and oversee inbound logistics, transportation and customs activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading supply chain or planning teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance and Business Development.
• Ability to design scalable, resilient supply chain processes for advanced defence and dual‑use technologies.
• Excellent analytical mindset and problem‑solving capabilities.
