Solutions Architect – Technology Analysis & Solution Design

About the role

We are seeking a Solutions Architect to join the Information Technology division of Popular. The role focuses on designing and evaluating application architectures across multiple business lines, supporting the company’s modernization initiatives. The position operates in a hybrid work model, collaborating with domain architects and technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end architecture design in partnership with domain architects.
• Assess existing systems and recommend improvements aligned with Enterprise Architecture.
• Analyze impacts of proposed solutions on other systems, processes, and projects.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to the organization.
• Support day‑to‑day execution of the Enterprise Architecture strategy and steer technology standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in application architecture, cloud‑native technologies, integration, or IT infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross‑functional, fast‑changing environments.
• Experience in financial services or agile/scrum environments is a plus.

Required skills

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• IASA Certified IT Architect.
• Application architecture design, middleware, protocols, API gateways.
• Cloud‑native technologies and platform infrastructures.
• Integration architecture and IT infrastructure operations.
• Agile/Scrum methodology.
