Software Engineer – Operations

About the role

The Operations Software Engineer ensures the uptime and reliability of critical application components, especially during off‑hours and weekend shifts. The role focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, and quickly resolving system issues while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for customer system‑related concerns.
• Log all system updates and completion dates in the service‑desk ticket system.
• Produce detailed reports on technical assistance requests, actions taken, dates, and participants.
• Collaborate with the operations team and customers to analyse, troubleshoot and diagnose system problems.
• Maintain and update technical documentation, procedures and an FAQ of frequent issues.
• Identify, resolve and document technical issues promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, IT Infrastructure or a related field.
• 3+ years experience managing/monitoring Microsoft SQL Server databases and troubleshooting performance issues.
• 2+ years experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or Azure Data Factory and ETL job execution.
• 2+ years experience writing T‑SQL for stored procedures, functions and other database objects.
• Customer‑facing experience with technical product knowledge.
• Optional certifications: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Database Administrator Associate, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, MCSA (SQL 2016).
• Experience with SQL Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Power BI, Python or PowerShell scripting is a plus.
