French Speaking Technical Support Specialist (SQL & Databases)

About the role

A French-speaking Technical Support Specialist with strong SQL and database troubleshooting expertise is sought for a flexible hybrid role in Porto, Portugal, supporting a leading enterprise software provider. You will act as a key technical resource for French-speaking corporate clients, diagnosing backend database anomalies, troubleshooting complex application errors and running data queries to keep software available and data accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical and application support to business clients in French and English via ticketing systems, email and scheduled calls.
• Investigate and resolve software issues, database integrity problems and transaction failures by querying and analysing relational databases with SQL.
• Write, review and run SQL scripts and queries (joins, updates, index checks) to inspect data pipelines and correct application records safely.
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring platform bugs, system errors and data discrepancies.
• Document findings, reproduction steps and workarounds in enterprise ticketing platforms such as Jira or ServiceNow.
• Work with software development, QA and tier-three engineering teams to fix underlying code defects.
• Uphold data governance, system security and client data confidentiality.

Required profile

• Native or near-native French (C1/C2) with strong technical and business communication skills.
• English at B2 level or higher for internal collaboration and documentation.
• Proven experience in Tier 2/3 technical support, application support, database administration or systems analysis.
• Strong diagnostic mindset, able to read system logs, identify stack traces and isolate defects.
• Ability to work autonomously and handle complex investigations; resident in Portugal and available to visit the Porto office occasionally.

Required skills

• SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server or Oracle).
• Advantage: familiarity with web technologies, REST/JSON APIs and enterprise operating environments.
