Software Engineer - AI

About the role

Join Soko's fast‑moving AI‑native platform team in Lisbon, building next‑generation search experiences that combine AI, data and product thinking. As a Software Engineer you will work across the stack, from front‑end to back‑end, and help improve the AI environment that powers the product.

Key responsibilities

• Build and iterate on core product features.
• Develop and optimise search infrastructure.
• Use AI tools such as Claude and Codex in daily workflow.
• Collaborate closely with founders in a rapid decision‑making environment.
• Contribute to system design as the product scales.
• Move quickly from idea to prototype to production.
• Work on AI‑driven search and retrieval systems.
• Improve AI environment and tooling.
• Solve complex challenges in ranking, relevance and data processing.
• Ship fast in a high‑ownership startup environment.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience with Python and/or React/Flutter.
• Enjoy building things from scratch.
• Strong interest in AI, search or data‑heavy systems.
• Startup mindset – comfortable with chaos and high impact.
• Take ownership and move fast.
