Site Activation Manager

About the role

The Site Activation Manager leads the strategic, operational, and financial delivery of site activation activities for global or multi‑regional clinical studies. The role ensures rapid site start‑up to support timely patient enrollment while complying with sponsor and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and project management for global site activation initiatives.
• Lead the end‑to‑end start‑up process from pre‑award through site activation and lifecycle maintenance.
• Develop and execute a Site Activation Management Plan aligned with study strategy.
• Collaborate with internal teams, regional units, and external stakeholders to ensure efficient study start‑up.
• Oversee regulatory submissions, approvals, contracts, and essential documentation.
• Assess regulatory landscapes and contribute to regulatory intelligence.
• Identify risks and propose practical solutions to support study delivery and bid processes.
• Maintain accurate tracking, reporting, and documentation in project systems.
• Support business development activities, including bid defense and client engagement.
• Mentor and coach team members and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of clinical research experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven international project experience across multiple regions.
• Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
