Senior Software Engineer - Banking

About the role

Cross Border Talents is recruiting a Senior Software Engineer on behalf of its client in Lisbon, Portugal, within the banking industry. The role involves building high-quality, scalable solutions and working closely with product owners, business analysts, QA teams and technology leads.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, scalable solutions that drive the project forward.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA teams and fellow engineers.
• Integrate UI components with APIs and databases to deliver a cohesive user experience.
• Take part in agile ceremonies to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Work with technology leads to design maintainable, robust systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
• 6-8 years of experience developing backend applications.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices across the full SDLC, including coding standards, unit testing, code reviews and continuous integration.

Required skills

• Java 8, MySQL and SQL.
• APIs and microservices with Spring Boot.
• UI development with Angular.
• At least one of HTML, CSS, JavaScript or jQuery.
• Testing with JUnit and IDE and continuous development tools.
