Senior Signalling Engineer

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is looking for a Senior Signalling Engineer to lead the design, development and implementation of ETCS signalling solutions for railway projects in Portugal. You will work in a multicultural environment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver safe and reliable railway signalling systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and integration of ETCS and ERTMS signalling solutions.
• Ensure compliance with ERTMS standards and perform safety assessments.
• Contribute to RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) analyses.
• Implement security protocols and validate system architecture.
• Perform requirement analysis, system specification and support system validation.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience in railway signalling engineering, especially ERTMS/ETCS implementation.
• Strong analytical abilities and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and good English proficiency.
• Team‑player attitude with the ability to work across cultures.
