Senior QA & Automation Engineer (Embedded Systems)

About the role

SEA.AI is looking for a Senior QA & Automation Engineer to join its Lisbon software team. You will help ensure that the AI‑driven camera systems running on NVIDIA Jetson hardware meet the highest safety standards for maritime operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the current end‑to‑end QA workflow and design a scalable, automation‑first strategy.
• Shift quality left by embedding testability considerations from specification through development.
• Apply risk‑based assessment to prioritize automation where it adds the most confidence.
• Reduce reliance on fully integrated hardware for development and QA by implementing hardware‑in‑the‑loop and simulation techniques.
• Automate pre‑release qualification to lower manual testing effort.
• Introduce AI‑native approaches for test generation, spec‑driven design, and failure analysis.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in QA engineering, test automation, or software quality.
• Daily use of modern coding tools and a willingness to adapt to new technologies.
• Proven track record with end‑to‑end, integration, and performance testing.
• Experience with test management tools such as XRay for Jira or similar.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware‑in‑the‑loop, embedded systems, or IoT testing environments.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
