Senior Python Integration Engineer – Home Assistant Hardware

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Python Integration Engineer to own the software layer that connects Nabu Casa hardware products to the Home Assistant ecosystem. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, delivering the code that makes our devices function seamlessly for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python integrations for Nabu Casa products across Home Assistant, ESPHome, and related Open Home Foundation projects.
• Collaborate closely with the Hardware team and Embedded Linux developers to ensure reliable device experiences.
• Manage the full product lifecycle of integrations, from initial implementation to long‑term maintenance.
• Navigate large, evolving codebases and contribute to shared libraries and proxy components.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Python development, particularly in client‑side integration work.
• Comfortable working with hardware‑related software stacks and embedded Linux environments.
• Ability to understand and extend complex, interconnected codebases.
• Passion for open‑source, smart‑home technologies and delivering user‑friendly solutions.
