(Senior) Medical Director – Cardiology (EMEA)

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a (Senior) Medical Director to lead cardiology clinical trials across the EMEA region. You will provide medical expertise, ensure scientific rigor, and support safety evaluation for our client‑driven studies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead study teams in creating and reviewing clinical trial protocols, amendments, and related documents (CSRs, ICFs, CRFs).
• Perform real‑time medical monitoring of primary endpoints and subject safety, escalating issues early.
• Act as the primary medical liaison between sponsors, investigators, IRBs, and health authorities.
• Educate investigator sites on protocol‑specific laboratory procedures and provide on‑site training.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, GCP, and all relevant regulatory requirements throughout the study lifecycle.

Required profile

• Medical degree with extensive experience in cardiology clinical research.
• Proven leadership in multi‑national trial environments.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with investigators, regulatory bodies, and internal cross‑functional teams.
