Senior Legal Counsel – Portugal

About the role

Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to act as a strategic partner for its operations across the Iberian region. The role involves providing business‑oriented legal advice on complex commercial activities, public tenders and international projects, helping the company drive innovation and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal activities for domestic and international commercial operations, bids and projects.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including supply, procurement, licensing, NDAs, distribution and software contracts.
• Provide legal support and strategic guidance for public tendering procedures with Portuguese public entities.
• Collaborate with the Regional Legal Team and business stakeholders to ensure aligned legal support.
• Maintain contract templates, terms & conditions, and monitor contractual compliance.
• Work cross‑functionally with finance, tax, treasury, insurance, procurement and commercial teams.
• Support implementation of transversal legal initiatives and maintain contractual records.

Required profile

• Law degree (Bachelor’s or Specialist) and at least 10 years of experience in commercial contract review and negotiation.
• Experience in an international in‑house legal environment, preferably within construction, energy, renewables or industrial sectors.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted business partner and provide practical, risk‑aware solutions.
