Senior FP&A Analyst – Sales & Marketing

About the role

Talkdesk is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to partner with senior management and cross‑functional teams in a fast‑moving technology environment. You will own the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for the Sales and Marketing business unit, ensuring strategic investments deliver optimal returns.

Key responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long‑term strategic planning for Sales & Marketing.
• Track end‑to‑end software spend by collaborating with IT, Procurement, and business teams.
• Lead the monthly accrual process for operating expenses, ensuring GAAP‑compliant expense recognition.
• Design and refine detailed financial models to analyze cost drivers and improve forecast accuracy.
• Conduct in‑quarter “puts & takes” reviews, develop KPIs, and enable rapid response to budget variances.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, synthesize key trends, and communicate insights to senior leadership.
• Provide ad‑hoc reporting and decision support for executive management.
• Build strong relationships with cross‑functional partners to integrate variance updates and drive alignment.

Required profile

• 3+ years of finance experience, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Curious mindset with a passion for data models and process improvement.
• Ability to influence and partner with leaders at all levels.
• Experience with headcount reconciliation and knowledge of sales/marketing metrics (ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, etc.).
• Strong financial and operational planning skills and excellent written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for financial modeling.
• Adaptive Insights or similar FP&A planning tools.
• Financial modeling and GAAP‑compliant reporting.
