Senior Financial Controller – Local Finance

About the role

The Senior Financial Controller will act as a finance business partner, delivering accurate and timely financial analysis to support business units in making informed decisions. This role focuses on performance management, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with Portuguese legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business lines to coordinate improvement actions and ensure proper allocation of actuals by line and expense nature.
• Analyze, control, and monitor headcount and expenses monthly, comparing actuals to forecasts and budgets.
• Produce management control reports for heads of territory and local businesses.
• Lead the forecast and budget processes and manage quarterly invoicing to internal clients.
• Coordinate booking and payment activities with all stakeholders.
• Provide ad‑hoc analysis and information to support top management decisions.
• Contribute to transversal transformation projects and continuous improvement of team processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in project management, banking, or financial operations.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational abilities, and reliability under strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Competence with Microsoft Word.
• Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint.
