Senior Financial Controller

About the role

We are one of Europe’s leading entertainment and communication businesses seeking a Senior Financial Controller to support our mission of delivering exceptional customer experiences. The role is responsible for executing financial and accounting operations, providing analysis and reporting, and safeguarding company assets while ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day financial operations for Sky, overseeing accounting for internal administrative activities.
• Produce accurate financial reports, forecasts and analyses to support informed decision‑making.
• Analyse and monitor Sky Portugal costs across business areas, cost centres and other categories.
• Provide executives with financial information that supports progress toward company goals.
• Ensure compliance with local legislation, tax requirements and relevant industry regulations.
• Maintain and monitor internal policies and controls, especially around expenditure, to safeguard assets and minimise fraud risk.
• Liaise with the Finance team in the UK and external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, accountants and legal advisers.

Required profile

• BSc, Master or MBA in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in corporate finance within international environments.
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Ability to multi‑task, adapt priorities to business needs and work independently with minimal guidance.
• Proactive, hands‑on, solution‑oriented attitude with strong presentation and influence skills.
• Fluent English at C2 level.
