Senior Electrical Engineer – Electrical Converter Specialist

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Converter Engineer to join its Porto team, focusing on renewable energy projects. You will improve the reliability and performance of client electrical converters through detailed analysis, root‑cause investigations, and quality enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement improvements on converters based on CIM cases and root‑cause analyses.
• Guide project design teams in Design for Reliability (DfR), including supplier coordination.
• Review and approve design team deliverables.
• Oversee fleet‑wide quality improvements and field failure data analysis.
• Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and tolerance chain assessments.
• Promote a quality‑mindset across modules and sub‑modules.
• Provide guidelines and methodologies for reliability engineering.

Required profile

• 5+ years of engineering and quality‑assurance experience in product design.
• Experience with CIM cases and root‑cause analysis in industrial settings.
• Background in Systems Engineering.
• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Fluent English communication.
• Collaborative, open‑minded attitude and ability to thrive in a dynamic, global team.
