Senior Electrical Engineer – Electrical Converter Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specialized in electrical converters to join Capgemini Engineering’s Porto team, supporting renewable‑energy projects. The role focuses on improving converter reliability and performance through continuous improvement, root‑cause investigations and quality enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement improvements on converters based on CIM (Continuous Improvement) cases and root‑cause analyses.
• Guide design teams and suppliers in Design for Reliability (DfR) practices.
• Review and approve design deliverables from project teams.
• Oversee fleet‑wide quality upgrades and monitor field failure data.
• Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root‑Cause Analysis (RCA) and tolerance chain assessments.
• Promote a quality‑mindset across modules and sub‑modules by providing guidelines and methodologies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of engineering and quality‑assurance experience in industrial environments.
• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Proven experience with CIM cases, root‑cause analysis and Design for Reliability.
• Six‑Sigma Black Belt preferred.
• Strong background in reliability testing, Design of Experiments and tolerance chain analysis.
• Fluent English and collaborative, cross‑functional attitude.
