Senior Data & ML Engineer / Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a senior‑level Data & ML Engineer who will design, build and operationalise machine‑learning solutions for real‑world industrial and enterprise applications within Bosch Service Solutions in Lisbon.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of machine‑learning and deep‑learning models for use cases such as predictive maintenance, computer vision and time‑series forecasting.
• Architect, implement and scale data pipelines that support model training, evaluation and continuous retraining.
• Deploy production‑grade ML systems via REST APIs, micro‑services or streaming inference.
• Define and evolve the MLOps strategy, including model versioning, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, automated retraining and experiment tracking.
• Collaborate with data‑science, backend, product and platform teams to align AI solution architecture with Bosch’s technology roadmap.
• Ensure responsible AI practices covering performance, fairness, robustness and explainability.

Required profile

• Degree in Data Science, AI, Computer Science or a related discipline (Master’s or PhD preferred) with hands‑on experience in machine‑learning or AI engineering.
• Proven track record of taking ML models from prototype to production.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work in a cross‑functional, international environment.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit‑Learn or PySpark.
• Cloud services on Azure.
• MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, DVC, Airflow, Argo or similar).
• Design of REST APIs, micro‑services and streaming inference pipelines.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring and experiment tracking.
• Understanding of distributed computing and data architecture.
