Senior Cybersecurity Control Officer

About the role
Closer Consulting is looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Control Officer to join its hybrid team in Portugal. You will work at the crossroads of governance, risk, compliance and program management, helping global entities achieve cyber‑maturity.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor cyber‑governance delivery, milestones and risks across EMEA, AMER and APAC regions.
- Prepare executive committee briefings, status reports and key risk indicators.
- Review, challenge and validate compliance evidence from IT and project teams against global cybersecurity frameworks.
- Serve as the main liaison between project managers, IT, risk officers and security auditors.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities for evidence collection, reporting pipelines and workflow using Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint and AI/LLM tools.
- Translate detailed technical data into concise executive insights.
Required profile
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Cybersecurity GRC, program management or IT/cyber audit (banking/financial services or Big 4 background is a plus).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity risk frameworks, regulatory standards and IT operations.
- Proven ability to critically challenge technical assumptions and evidence.
- Excellent communication skills in English and experience presenting to senior executives.
