Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the development and deployment of integrated road crash data management systems for an EU‑funded technical assistance project supporting ECOWAS transport governance in West Africa. The role will involve designing harmonised data frameworks, ensuring interoperability across multiple sources and providing analytical tools for evidence‑based road safety monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy integrated road crash data management systems across the ECOWAS region.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection, database management and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road infrastructure databases into unified platforms.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, standards and road safety analytics methodologies.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting systems and monitoring tools.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality, validation and evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Coordinate with transport institutions, police authorities, health agencies, ICT providers and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, training and capacity‑building activities.
• Support monitoring, reporting and analytical outputs related to road safety performance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road safety data systems, information systems or transport analytics.
• At least 7 years of experience specifically with crash data systems or road safety information platforms.
• Proven experience on transport or road safety projects in developing countries, preferably Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
