Senior Backend Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join a globally distributed engineering team focused on advanced digital finance and blockchain-powered technologies. The role involves building and maintaining scalable backend systems that power high‑performance financial services used worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for scalable financial platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient architectures.
• Improve and optimise existing Node.js services for reliability, scalability and performance.
• Develop new backend solutions and integrations using RPC calls within microservice architectures.
• Write and optimise complex queries for operational, financial and compliance processes.
• Drive platform scalability initiatives to ensure real‑time responsiveness.
• Apply security best practices to protect infrastructure, transactions and user data.
• Participate in Agile processes, code reviews, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience with JavaScript and Node.js backend development.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems design.
• Experience with large‑scale platforms, high‑availability systems and real‑time performance optimisation.
• Proficiency with relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
