Senior Applied AI Engineer

About the role

BOLD is looking for a Senior Applied AI Engineer to lead the creation of an advanced automation framework powered by large language models. You will work on agentic workflows that reason, plan, and adapt to solve complex real‑world challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Build agentic systems with multi‑step reasoning, self‑reflection, and adaptive execution.
• Architect retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) and memory‑augmented pipelines for long‑term adaptability.
• Optimize LLM performance through prompt engineering, few‑shot learning, and fine‑tuned models.
• Explore NLP techniques, embeddings, and vector databases to continuously improve system capabilities.
• Develop robust model evaluation frameworks to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Collaborate with global, cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end production features.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years building LLM‑powered applications.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Visionary mindset with interest in multi‑modal models and staying ahead of AI trends.

Required skills

• Expert‑level JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, and/or LlamaIndex.
• Proficiency in prompt chaining, feedback loops, and LLM integration.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, service‑oriented architectures, and database modeling.
• Familiarity with Python, Playwright, vector databases, embeddings, and NLP techniques.
• Understanding of retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) and memory‑augmented architectures.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and deployment tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience with self‑hosted models, LoRA adapters, fine‑tuning, and core machine‑learning algorithms (regression, neural networks, deep learning).
