Senior Accountant – Tax Compliance (Lisbon)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead tax compliance projects for a leading Big‑4 consulting firm in Lisbon. The role combines technical tax expertise with advisory responsibilities, supporting both domestic and multinational clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple technical and advisory tax compliance projects for a wide range of clients.
• Identify and develop new strategic business opportunities.
• Coordinate timelines and expectations with customers to ensure timely delivery.
• Deliver high‑quality solutions using tax compliance knowledge while optimizing processes and leveraging technology.
• Advise local and multinational companies on aligning tax compliance with their business strategy.
• Prepare and submit corporate tax obligations (IRC, IVA, IRS, IMI) and other reporting requirements (COPE, CBCR).
• Monitor current tax, legal and business trends relevant to client activities.
• Support team productivity and motivation through effective communication and cooperation.

Required profile

• Academic degree in Tax, Economics or a related field from a recognized university.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in tax compliance.
• Background in a consulting environment, preferably Big‑4 or second‑tier firms.
• Experience in managing a team.
• Full proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Corporate tax compliance (IRC, IVA, IRS, IMI).
• Reporting obligations such as COPE and Country‑by‑Country Reporting (CBCR).
