Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Lisbon. Reporting to the Deputy Group Controller, you will own core accounting functions while gaining exposure to technical and cross‑functional projects that support our fast‑growing global telecom business. Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed balance‑sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with local regulations.
• Prepare financial statements for multiple entities.
• Support wholesale cost calculations during month‑end close.
• Assist with worldwide audits, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
• Identify and implement finance automation improvements.
• Oversee automated cash‑reconciliation processes for efficiency and reliability.
• Gain exposure to IFRS 16 lease accounting as part of the close process.
• Continuously improve finance team processes to optimise efficiency.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• 3‑5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably with Big 4 training.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Curious mindset with a genuine interest in understanding complex financial topics.
