Safety and Occupational Health Manager (Admin)

About the role

The Safety and Occupational Health Manager (Admin) will lead the development and implementation of occupational safety and health policies for U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This senior position provides expert guidance across multiple duty locations nationwide.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate the agency’s occupational safety and health program activities.
• Advise management on employee safety concerns, OSHA investigations, injury investigations, and related labor issues.
• Analyze safety data and trends to identify root causes of accidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and issue policy directives, program guidance, and training materials for the OSH division.
• Coordinate responses to employee allegations of unsafe conditions and support union grievance processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in occupational safety and health program management, preferably within a federal or large‑scale organization.
• In‑depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and federal safety standards.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on safety matters.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting incident data and trends.
