About the role

This position provides direct patient care in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting, coordinating assessments, treatment plans, and education for patients and families. The RN will work closely with physicians and multidisciplinary staff to ensure safe and effective care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records, document changes in patient status, and communicate significant findings to physicians.
• Administer medications, including controlled substances, and ensure proper documentation.
• Provide education to patients and families about health conditions and treatment options.
• Support admission and discharge processes, ensuring timely completion of required paperwork.
• Demonstrate therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to universal precautions.

Required profile

• Graduated from an accredited nursing school.
• Current RN license for the state of employment or eligibility to practice.
• At least one year of nursing experience; psychiatric or substance‑use experience is a plus.
• CPR certification and training in de‑escalation and restraint (provided if needed).
• First‑aid certification may be required based on state or facility policies.
