About the role

The Charge Nurse provides clinical leadership on a shift, directing patient care, coordinating staff, and ensuring a safe, empathetic environment.

Key responsibilities

Oversee a unit or work group for a specified shift, scheduling staff to ensure full coverage.
Provide direct patient care and monitor/coordinate nursing and support staff activities.
Lead, guide, and train employees, and conduct nursing evaluations and consultations.
Coordinate services with other departments, oversee quality‑assurance activities, and promote continuous improvement of safety and environmental practices.

Required profile

Current RN license in the state where the facility operates.
BSN preferred; at least 6 months of RN experience required, with 1 year preferred.
Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, or addiction recovery settings is preferred.

Required skills

CPR certification.
De‑escalation and restraint certification (training provided if needed).
First‑aid certification where required by state or facility.
