R2R Specialist – Finance & Accounting

About the role

The R2R Specialist will join Sodexo Business Services' Finance team in Portugal, supporting Record to Report processes for European markets. You will ensure accurate month‑end closing, balance‑sheet reconciliations and profit‑and‑loss reporting while adhering to internal controls and accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute management accounting procedures according to the closing calendar.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and ESSC processes.
• Prepare and analyse general ledger activity, including balance‑sheet reconciliations and variance explanations.
• Process accruals, pre‑payments and intercompany journal entries to support financial reporting and billing.
• Respond to internal queries, support internal and external audits, and update standard operating procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process harmonisation and continuous improvement.
• Assist in onboarding new team members through knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Strong understanding of management accounting and month‑end close processes.
• Attention to detail with the ability to explain significant balance‑sheet movements.
• Good communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders and auditors.
