QA Lead

About the role

Cross Border Talents is hiring a QA Lead in Lisbon. The role covers understanding project and phase-wise requirements, defining test strategies and plans, managing test tasks and defects, and coordinating with the project manager, engineers and product designers to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the overall project and its phase-wise requirements, and take part in requirements gathering, analysis and definition.
• Define the test planning strategy, including regression and non-functional testing, functional testing after integration customizations, staging through lab/test, pre-production and production, and test automation.
• Test across integrations and phases, and generate and own user guides for integrations.
• Draft and own test plans and create testing work tasks for each phase and integration.
• Allocate and manage tasks among team members and rework test plans and user guides as needed.
• Work with product designers and developers at all stages to promote quality, and with the engineering and RA teams to manage defects and bugs.
• Ensure quality and timely deliverables, coordinating with the project manager and other leads.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (CS, EE) or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
• 8+ years of industry experience in coding and testing and test methodologies.
• Strong written and oral English.
• Process-oriented, self-starter and self-motivated; knowledge of NMS/EMS/OSS is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong QA process, process definition and execution, and task allocation.
• Strong working knowledge of test automation tools for backend and UI, and of Agile/Waterfall software methodologies.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Cucumber, Postman, TestNG and Selenium.
• Scripting with Python.
