QA Engineer

About the role

Cross Border Talents is hiring a QA Engineer in Lisbon. The role covers the full testing lifecycle, from understanding project and phase-wise requirements to regression, functional and non-functional testing, staging and defect management.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the project and its phase-wise requirements, and take part in requirements gathering, analysis and definition
• Understand the test planning strategy, including regression strategy and non-functional testing
• Perform functional testing after integration customizations and patches
• Run tests through lab/test, pre-production and production environments
• Automate testing with test tools and scripts, and generate and own user guides for integrations
• Work with the product designers and developers at every stage to promote quality
• Work with the engineering and RA teams to manage defects and bugs
• Coordinate with the project manager and other leads to deliver quality work on time

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (CS, EE) or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred
• 4-6 years of industry experience in coding and test methodologies
• Strong written and oral English
• Process-oriented, self-motivated and self-starter

Required skills

• Strong QA process knowledge, including process definition and execution
• Agile and waterfall software development methodologies
• Test automation tools such as Cucumber, Postman, TestNG and Selenium
• Scripting with Python
• Knowledge of NMS/EMS/OSS is a plus
