QA Engineer – Automation & Manual Testing

About the role

Intermedia is seeking a QA Engineer to ensure high‑quality, reliable, and scalable applications across its cloud communications suite. The position is primarily remote with occasional visits to the Coimbra or Aveiro office, offering flexibility while supporting collaborative teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Development, Product Management, and UX teams to define quality requirements and create comprehensive test strategies.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for frontend, backend, and API testing, and own execution of automation suites.
• Perform manual exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and end‑to‑end testing as needed.
• Investigate test failures, log defects in Jira, and drive issues to resolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and release activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of QA experience in a software development environment.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, QA processes, and Agile practices.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, with excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Automation tools/frameworks: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit.
• API testing tools and methodologies.
• Programming/scripting languages: Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C#.
• Version control and CI/CD: Git, CI pipelines.
• Issue tracking: Jira.
• SQL query creation for data validation.
