Python Data Engineer (French Speaker)

About the role

Natixis in Portugal is looking for a Python Data Engineer who is fluent in French to join the BPCE SI (Solutions Informatiques) team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support data‑driven decision making across the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate end‑to‑end ELT/ETL pipelines to ingest, process and store large data volumes from multiple sources.
• Build robust data models and schemas for data warehouses or data lakes.
• Implement data transformations, orchestration, automation and quality checks using Python.
• Integrate testing (UAT/QA) into the data‑engineering lifecycle and ensure release‑ready pipelines.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, analysts and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and data‑quality frameworks.
• Ensure data governance, security, privacy and compliance (IAM, encryption, access controls).
• Create and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, runbooks and test plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional data‑engineering experience.
• Strong Python development skills, including design patterns, testing and performance optimisation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Azure) and related services.
• Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT concepts.
