Project Manager – R&D (Automotive)

About the role

The Project Manager will lead R&D projects for Bontaz Portugal, guiding initiatives from concept through to delivery. You will ensure projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, budgets, and timelines while acting as the primary liaison for internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor all phases of R&D projects in the automotive and mobility sectors.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage resources, and track progress against milestones.
• Control project budgets, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, providing regular status updates.
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing R&D or automotive projects.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project.
• Experience using Jira or similar issue‑tracking systems.
