Project Manager

About the role

Volkswagen Financial Services is seeking a Project Manager to lead strategic initiatives across its global markets. Based in Porto, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget while maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive end‑to‑end delivery of complex IT projects, meeting agreed milestones, scope, budget and quality targets.
• Apply and adapt project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) to fit each project’s context.
• Structure and manage project scope, timelines, dependencies and governance, including steering committees and phase‑gate reviews.
• Lead stakeholder engagement across Business, IT, Markets and external vendors, ensuring alignment and effective decision‑making.
• Maintain financial transparency through budget planning, tracking and forecasting.
• Identify, manage and resolve risks, issues and dependencies that could impact delivery.
• Coordinate multiple teams, remove blockers and promote knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of project management standards, tools and ways of working.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex IT projects in an international environment.
• Strong ability to structure and drive execution across multiple stakeholders and teams.
• Demonstrated capability to lead cross‑functional or virtual project teams.
• Experience establishing and improving project governance, methodologies and delivery practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior leadership level.
• Solid business and IT understanding with a pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset.
• High ownership, accountability and delivery focus.
