Project Manager - Air Traffic Management

About the role

Thales is seeking a Project Manager to join its Airspace Mobility Solutions team in Paço de Arcos, Portugal. You will be responsible for delivering innovative air traffic management projects, coordinating with customers, global engineering teams and subcontractors to ensure successful execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end project delivery, ensuring timelines, budget, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams, subcontractors and global engineering resources.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and contractual compliance.
• Monitor project performance, manage risks, develop mitigation plans and adhere to Thales Project Management governance.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and support business growth.
• Contribute to bid and proposal activities with high‑quality project plans aligned to Thales standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Project Manager or Bid Manager.
• Strong knowledge of project management and systems engineering, including planning, risk, procurement and financial management.
• Proven leadership, stakeholder management and cross‑functional coordination skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Professional proficiency in English and willingness to travel.
• IPMA or equivalent certification is a plus.
