Project Engineer – Construction

About the role

Ossam Construction, Inc. is seeking a full‑time Project Engineer to join its on‑site team in San Juan. You will support the planning, coordination and execution of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects from pre‑construction through closeout.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with project scheduling, resource coordination and progress tracking.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documents; prepare quantity take‑offs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and site supervisors to keep work on schedule.
• Monitor project progress, resolve technical and field issues, and ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare regular reports, maintain project documentation and communicate updates to project managers and clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical or related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong project engineering and electrical engineering knowledge with ability to interpret plans and specifications.
• Proficiency in project management and planning, including scheduling and resource coordination.
• Experience with construction management software and solid skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations and quality‑control practices.
• Ability to work on‑site, manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing project needs.
• Prior experience in commercial or infrastructure construction in Puerto Rico or similar markets is preferred.
