Program Buyer – Purchasing Leader

About the role

The Program Purchasing Leader (PPL) will manage the interface between program teams and suppliers across multiple Forvia plant locations. The role anticipates supplier technology, geographic and cost requirements, ensures the commodity panel strategy aligns with program goals, and selects and pilot suppliers to meet program objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the RFQ process with shortlisted suppliers according to the commodity panel strategy.
• Negotiate contracts, coordinating with commodity teams for strategic agreements.
• Oversee the full supplier spectrum from Gate #1 through Gate #4, ensuring compliance and performance.
• Represent Purchasing in the program core team, covering T&E, commodities and ASQ.
• Deliver PMS outcomes including on‑time delivery, financial metrics and gate approvals.
• Handle mandated suppliers as required by customers.
• Utilise PSP support for administrative project tasks and reporting.
• Achieve program purchasing indicators related to profitability and cash flow.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
• Professional purchasing qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a program buyer or in a comparable industrial role.
• Experience working in an international, matrix‑organized environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of supplier cost structures.
• Understanding of purchasing commodity strategy.
• Familiarity with product design, development and launch processes.
• Fluent English with strong written and oral presentation abilities.
• Good planning, organization and project‑management capabilities.
• Negotiation and interpersonal skills.
