About the role

St. Peter's International School, part of the Inspired Education group, is looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Portuguese Teacher. The role involves delivering high‑quality Portuguese language instruction, fostering proficiency, and promoting Portuguese literature and culture among a multicultural student body.

Key responsibilities

• Lesson Delivery & Planning: Design and deliver engaging Portuguese lessons aligned with national and international curricula.
• Differentiated Teaching: Adapt methods and materials to meet diverse language proficiency levels.
• Assessment & Monitoring: Systematically assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Educational Innovation: Integrate digital tools and inquiry‑based approaches to enhance learning.
• Pastoral & School Life: Participate in tutoring, departmental meetings, and extracurricular activities.
• Parent Communication: Keep parents informed about academic and social development.

Required profile

• Academic Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Portuguese Studies, Modern Languages, or Education.
• Professional Qualification: Valid teaching qualification for Portugal.
• Experience: Prior teaching experience, preferably in private or international schools.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with Portuguese Ministry of Education programmes; knowledge of Cambridge or IB programmes is a plus.
• Language Skills: Native or near‑native Portuguese fluency; strong command of English.
• Core Competencies: Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, collaborative spirit, and flexibility across age groups.
