Pharmacy Operations Manager

About the role

The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day non‑clinical pharmacy activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager or pharmacist, this full‑time certified pharmacy technician leads a team of technicians and cashiers while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers, handling scheduling, training, performance management, discipline and termination.
• Operate pharmacy systems to enter prescription data, verify medications (where permitted), and process insurance claims.
• Assist the pharmacist with patient registration, medication preparation, vaccine administration, health screenings, and other permitted health services.
• Manage daily pharmacy workflow, inventory, equipment maintenance, and ensure a clean, well‑stocked environment.
• Prepare and file required reports for the company and government agencies, and support financial and operational analysis.
• Coordinate community outreach, off‑site immunization clinics, and maintain relationships with retail partners.

Required profile

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB certification (or state equivalent) and willingness to obtain immunization certification within 90 days.
• At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

• Ability to manage inventory and maintain accurate records.
• Strong customer service skills to address non‑clinical inquiries and resolve complaints.
