Pastry Cook II – Luxury Resort

About the role

Join the Pastry Department of La Concha Resort, a modern luxury resort in Condado, Puerto Rico. As a Pastry Cook II you will create a variety of desserts, pastries and breads that reflect the resort’s high‑end, Latino‑chic experience while maintaining consistent quality and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, bake, and present a wide range of desserts, pastries and breads for the resort’s restaurants.
• Maintain clean, organized pastry stations before each shift and throughout service.
• Follow standardized recipes, measure and mix ingredients accurately, and update recipes as needed.
• Monitor freshness of ingredients, rotate stock, and ensure all food products meet specifications.
• Assist in developing new recipes and menu items in collaboration with supervisory staff.
• Estimate food consumption, place orders or retrieve supplies, and keep accurate inventory records.
• Adhere to food safety, health and safety policies, and complete required safety training.
• Stay informed about industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques where appropriate.
• Support team members, maintain professional appearance, and protect proprietary information.

Required profile

• Hospitality‑oriented with previous experience as a pastry cook or in a similar role within a fine‑dining environment.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Physical capability to bend, squat, stand for 2‑3 hours and lift up to 50 lb.
• Strong teamwork attitude and capacity to operate with minimal supervision.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
