Part‑Time English Teacher – Lisbon

About the role

The British Council is looking for three enthusiastic part‑time English teachers to join its Lisbon teaching centre. You will deliver high‑quality language lessons to a diverse range of learners, both in‑person and online, while supporting the Council’s cultural‑relations mission.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for young learners, adults and corporate clients.
• Adapt teaching methods to suit face‑to‑face and virtual formats.
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and promote learner autonomy.
• Maintain accurate teaching records and complete required administrative tasks.
• Contribute to centre activities and uphold the British Council’s teaching standards.

• Committed to part‑time teaching and continuous professional development.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Flexibility to work across different courses, age groups and locations.

Required skills

• Strong command of English language teaching methodologies.
• Proficiency in using online teaching platforms.
