About the role
International House Coimbra is seeking an enthusiastic English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher to deliver part‑time lessons for young learners. The position runs from October 2026 to June 2027, primarily on Wednesday afternoons (14:30‑17:15), with the possibility of additional hours.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for children.
- Maintain a supportive and interactive classroom environment.
- Adapt teaching materials to suit learner needs and age groups.
- Participate in the centre’s CPD programme, including seminars and classroom observations.
- Collaborate with a small team of teachers to share best practices.
Required profile
- Residency in the Coimbra area and legal eligibility to work in Portugal.
- Enthusiasm for teaching young learners and a commitment to professional development.
- Either newly qualified or experienced in EFL teaching.
