About the role
The Army National Guard is seeking motivated individuals to serve as Paralegal Specialists (MOS 27D). In this role you will support judges, Army lawyers, and unit commanders by handling a wide range of legal and administrative tasks across family, international, contract, and military law.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and process legal documents for courts‑martial and other military justice proceedings.
- Assist with legal affairs such as powers of attorney, wills, and separation decrees.
- Interview witnesses, research court decisions and Army regulations, and manage legal claims and appeals.
- Maintain law and administrative libraries and ensure accuracy of legal actions.
- Provide technical guidance and supervision to subordinates in legal matters.
Required profile
- Must enlist in the Army National Guard.
- High school junior, graduate, or GED holder.
- Age between 17 and 35.
- Pass a physical examination and meet legal, moral, and citizenship standards.
- Willingness to complete 10 weeks Basic Training and 10 weeks Advanced Individual Training.
