Packaging Operator – Medical Device Manufacturing

About the role

The Packaging Operator joins BD’s manufacturing team in Puerto Rico, supporting the production of medical‑device components. Working on approved lines, you will operate equipment, assemble and package products, and ensure compliance with strict quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate production equipment and perform on‑line assembly, packaging, and inspection following approved procedures.
• Receive, verify, and approve raw materials and components against data forms.
• Inspect work continuously, remove defective items, and report deviations to the Manufacturing Facilitator.
• Record production data accurately in accordance with GMP requirements.
• Assist the Shift Leader with material reconciliation and the Set‑up Operator with equipment changeovers, preventive maintenance, and routine issue resolution.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and pursue cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with QSR, ISO 13485, and GMP standards.

Required profile

• Degree‑level qualification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to follow GMP, QSR, and ISO 13485 procedures.
• Strong attention to detail for inspecting products and recording data.
• Willingness to undergo training at BD Juncos and relocate to BD Añasco.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Familiarity with QSR and ISO 13485 quality standards.
